A History of Helping Families and Businesses Move
Bert Hill Moving & Storage was first founded in 1915 by Herbert Hill Sr. and later taken over by his son, Herbert Hill Jr. On April 1, 1970, Herbert Hill Jr. sold his company to Kenneth Dulude Sr. Kenneth was a part-time employee at Bert Hill Moving & Storage for 18 years and was focused on providing high-quality household and piano moving services in the area.
Bert Hill Moving & Storage eventually became the #1 piano mover in the Springfield area because of its ability to rig pianos through windows and porches using block and tackle or a crane. Ken Sr. also invented hatchway rigging for conveniently moving pianos in and out of basement hatchways. No other local mover at this time had this type of rigging available to them.
Kenneth Dulude Jr. eventually took over his father’s business in 1996, after working for the company since 1970. He restructured the company to add storage opportunities and larger moving trucks to meet every customer’s needs. He also expanded the company’s service area to include the entire east coast, from Maine all the way to Florida. Bert Hill Moving & Storage has remained an independent mover to this day, which helps to ensure we can provide the absolute best in personalized customer service.
Finally, in 2005, Kenneth Dulude Jr. purchased a 20,000 sq. ft. facility in Westfield, MA to better meet the company’s ever-growing demands.
